Hence, the publication fee is required to meet Journal of Liberty and International Affairs operating costs, such as electronic composition and typesetting; review management; proofreading; archiving, where appropriate, in internationally recognized, open access repositories; editorial and administrative costs with unlimited space for figures, extensive data and video footage; and web hosting. Being an open access publisher, IRES does not receive payment for subscriptions as JLIA is freely accessible over the internet. All articles submitted to JLIA are assumed to be submitted under the fee-based open access publishing model. If the article is accepted for publication, authors will be asked to pay 59 EUR or its USD equivalent as an article publication fee, in order to defray the operating costs. The payment method will be notified in the acceptance letter. Published articles appear electronically and are freely available from the Journal of Liberty and International Affairs website.
