Aleksandra Kolakovic
Dr. Aleksandra Kolakovic is a historian and Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Political Studies (Belgrade, Serbia). She is leading the project: France and the Western Balkans: Legacy of the Past and European Integration, jointly implemented by the Institute for Political Studies and the Sorbonne Paris IV within the bilateral cooperation between Serbia and France in the field of scientific and technical research - Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) (2020 - ). She is managing (on the Serbian side) the project: Empowerment and Perspectives of Higher Education in the Western Balkans, jointly realized by INALCO, Institute for Political Studies, Faculty of Law, University of Sv. Kliment Ohridski in Bitola and the University of Montenegro Faculty of Philology in Niksic. She is the author of the book U sluzbi otadzbine: saradnja francuskih i srpskih intelektualaca 1894–1914[For the Homeland: Cooperation of French and Serbian Intellectuals 1894–1914] (2016), Lexicon of Multiculturalism (2015), history textbooks for high schools and more than 50scholarlypapers. She is also the editor of the collection of papers La France et la Serbe: Les défis se l’amitie eternelle(2021), as well as special issues of the journals Kultura (Culture and Diplomacy, 2021/4) and Srpska politicka misao (France and Serbia, 2018; France and Western Balkans: the legacy of the past and European integration, 2022). She led project: French-Serbian relations in the field of diplomacy and media representation: Historical experience and contemporary challenges, jointly implemented by the Institute for Political Studies and the Sorbonne Paris IV within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of France in the field of scientific and technical research - Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC). Aleksandra’s main areas of academic interest are the field of intellectual history, history of ideas, political and cultural history, the culture of remembrance, identities, protection of cultural heritage, cultural diplomacy, as well as cultural and educational policy. She was a scholarship holder of the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia (2005), the Government of the Republic of France (L'Universite Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, 2010, L'Universite Sorbonne Paris IV, 2019), and visiting scholar at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (2016). She is a member of the Management Board of the Museum of the City of Belgrade (2018-), the Expert Council of the Institute for the Study of Cultural Development (2020-), the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies, and FranceAlumni (2018–). She speaks English and French and uses the German language.
