ARTICLE PUBLICATION CHARGES (APCs)
 
 
 

The Institute for Research and European Studies is a self-supporting and non-profit organization. Hence, the article publication fee is required to meet Journal of Liberty and International Affairs operating costs, such as: electronic composition and typesetting; review management; proofreading; archiving, where appropriate, in an internationally recognized, open access repositories; editorial and administrative costs with unlimited space for figures, extensive data and video footage; and web hosting. Being an open access publisher, IRES does not receive payment for subscription as JLIA is freely accessible over the internet. All manuscripts submitted to JLIA are assumed to be submitted under the fee-based open access publishing model. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors will be asked to pay a certain amount as publication fee, in order to defray the operating costs. The payment method will be notified in the acceptance letter. Published articles appear electronically and are freely available from the Journal of Liberty and International Affairs website.



Journal of Liberty and International Affairs provides several categories of publication fee:

  • Regular submission: 98 EUR (or its USD equivalent) 
     

Discounts:

  • MA and PhD students: 68 EUR (or its USD equivalent) (Authors may be asked to provide proof of MA or PhD student status.)
     
  • Authors from least developed countries: 45 EUR (or its USD equivalent)

Payment

  • After the manuscript acceptance, the corresponding author will be asked to pay an adequate publication fee.
  • The payment method will be notified in the acceptance letter.
  • Publication fee should be paid by credit card (Master Card; Maestro; VISA/VISA Electron; MK Domestic Card; Diners Club).


Please Note
If authors do not have enough funds to pay publication fee, they will have an opportunity to waive or discount the publication fee. The journal editorial team does not want publication fee to prevent the publication of worthy work.
